MV Giamani Overview
MV Giamani finds a wonderful balance between boat size, passenger numbers, and itineraries. She is 24 metres long, which is about average for such vessels, and was purpose-built in 1998. But with just ten passengers on board for any cruise, each trip is guaranteed to be sociable and offer space and comfort for those who want to enjoy a diving holiday at Thailand’s best diving sites. The Thai crew and foreign dive team are all extremely experienced in taking customers diving in the Andaman Sea.
In recent seasons Giamani offered 2D/2N trips to the southern Andaman, followed by 4D/4N trips to the Northern Andaman. But from November 2023, the trips will be 7D/7N in length and offer up to 24 dives all at exciting and colourful dive sites in the Northern Andaman, with a full day at Richelieu Rock, two full days at Koh Bon & Koh Tachai, and two full days at the Similans.
Giamani has recently undergone two renovations. In 2013, four deluxe cabins, all with air-conditioning and en suite bathrooms were created for the main deck. They have a double bed and an additional single bunk, enabling guests to choose to sleep together or apart. Mini fridges, and doors opening out to wonderful sea views add to the luxurious feel. In addition, the upper deck now just has one master cabin, which is the pride of the ship. Great views and convenient location add to the luxuries such as en suite, sofa, mini fridge and air conditioning.
Although most diving on Giamani is recreational scuba diving on air or Nitrox, there are also options for tech diving, including rebreather. The boat was originally built for more than twenty diving guests, but now just accommodates ten. Therefore, there is plenty of space on the large dive platform for the extra equipment necessary for tech diving.
MV Giamani’s crew have worked on the boat for long enough to appreciate what international holidaymakers want and need. From helping them with the equipment, diving, or other activities to serving the best food available for miles, they spoil each customer and soon know each by name. While safety always comes first, passengers can still relax and have fun on Giamani, made easier by such small groups of divers.
