MV Manta Queen 5 Overview
Manta Queen 5 is a great diving safari boat which sails to the best dive sites in Thailand's North Andaman. It is ideal for divers who want to experience Thailand's best dive sites at great-value prices. Up to twenty lucky guests are able to join these amazing diving safaris to a selectioon of wonderful dive sites. MQ5 now has FREE Wi-Fi for guests. New for 2023-2024, the boat is running 3D/3N 11-dive trips to Thailand's best dive sites of Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock.
In the past few years Manta Queen 5 went south to Racha & Phi Phi but is now back to the Top 3 dive sites in all of Thailand. Guests get to discover some of Thailand’s best dive sites during the cruise but without breaking the bank.
Manta Queen 5 is quite a large boat (26m), and it has recently undergone extensive renovations in order to make the twin-bunk cabins as comfortable as possible. All the cabins are clean, and guests can enjoy air-conditioned comfort throughout the cruise. To be honest, most guests aboard Manta Queen 5 spend their non-diving time socializing on one of the decks or during excursions. The boat has a large, covered outdoor dining and chillout area, where briefings are given, meals are eaten, and guests can socialise or fill out logbooks. Some just want to gaze out at the wonderful views, which can also be done from the sundeck on top of the boat.
Food is served buffet style several times each day, and this includes a light evening meal on the departure day. There are also fruits and snacks available all the time. Diving is hungry work, and the food is delicious, so don't expect to lose any weight on your MQ5 liveaboard cruise! Cold soft drinks are available for free. And if you want beer you're welcome to bring your own. This can be bought at a local supermarket next to the office. Cold beer seems to taste even better out at sea, after a long day diving.
Please note that some websites show MQ5's trips to be 4D/3N (maybe to make the '$/day rate look better), but this is misleading & untrue. They may also still show trips to southern Andman, which is no longer true for this boat. The trips are three days and three nights long, with up to 11 dives at Koh bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock.
Safety is most important on any diving safari, but the dive team and crew aboard Manta Queen 5 also make the cruises as much fun as possible. It’s all very relaxed and enjoyable for everyone on board.
On-board PADI & SSI courses are very common for Manta Queen 5 guests, mainly due to the competitive rates and great diving conditions.

Some websites show the trips as 4D/3N or going to the South Andaman Islands but this is not correct. It could be that these other websites are trying to mislead you so that you book with them. Also, some of them display a 'per day' price, which is based on an artificial number of days.

The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
MV Manta Queen 5 Transfer Details
Manta Queen guests can enjoy free scheduled pickups from around Phuket and Khao Lak in the afternoon of the first day of the trip.
At the end of the trip, the team can take you back to Khao Lak or Phuket hotels.
The 3D / 3N trips depart in the evening, and sail through the night. You disembark in the late afternoon on the third day.

The booking process for MV Manta Queen is very simple & convenient. Firstly, ask us to reserve a space in the cabin of your on the date/trip that you would like to join. We are happy to do this for free, and without any commitment from you. When you are ready to confirm your booking, we ask for 30% of the cruise price as a deposit. This payment is most-commonly made via PayPal, (Transfer)Wise or direct bank transfer in a wide choice of currencies, without fees. You don't need a PayPal account, although PayPal normally encourage you to open one. The PayPal invoice can be sent to any email address and payment can be made by anyone.
Nowadays, most of our guests choose to pay through a local direct bank transfer in a choice of currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, THB, AUD & NZD. This gives you the very best exchange rate and there are no fees. This is possible because we have bank accounts in each of those territories.
The 70% balance and national park fees are due 60 days before your trip's departure date. Transfers and any equipment rental and/or courses can be paid when you arrive.
Cancellation policy:
Cancellation fees depend on the time and reason for cancelling. Please contact us for details. The management of MV Manta Queen are both considerate & flexible whenever possible regarding customer cancellations.
The official cancellation policy is as follows:
30+ days before departure = refund of money paid, minus any bank fees incurred doing so.
15-30 days before departure = refund of 50% trip balance or postpone to a future trip (subject to availability) but in some cases we are able to refund this to you. If the national park ticket has not been purchased yet, we can also refund the fee.
1-14 days before departure = loss of all monies but in some cases cancellations made late can be adjusted to help you.
Most travel insurance policies can protect you from unforeseen cancellation penalties.
