MV Stingray Overview
MV Stingray is the ideal choice for guests who want a short liveaboard experience, but with a very private environment in the evenings. It is a twin-engine twin-hull vessel as big as most liveaboard cruise boats. At 23 metres long and 7 metres wide she can cruise around the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock safely and smoothly. Stingray used to operate day trips for up to thirty divers on busy days, but has now been completely renovated to be a flexible liveaboard boat. Flexible liveaboards stay out at sea all season, and guests are transported out from Khao Lak by speedboat. This enables you to choose which day of the week you start your cruise, and for how long you stay on board. Most people join for 2D/1N, getting 6 dives at different dive spots. But if you want to stay for longer, you can. Stingray doesn't stay in the same place. It cruises around the world-famous Similan Islands for five days of the week, but in different spots. Then on Mondays it goes to Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, which are wonderful dive sites, with some special marine life. Then every Tuesday Stingray is at Richelieu Rock, the best dive site in Thailand.
There are just four air-conditioned cabins, each with its own private bathroom and bunk beds. You can join alone or with friends, couples or siblings.
Stingray has a massive dive deck and several places for entering or exiting the water. The communal areas for relaxing or socializing when not underwater are expansive and varied. There’s always somewhere to sit and relax alone or chat in small groups.
During the day, there will be more divers on board. This is just from 9.30am to 3.30pm and the two middle dives of the day. But at night there are no more than eight lucky guests on board, making for a very private and personal experience.
