MV DiveRACE Class E Overview
MV DiveRACE Class E is a new luxury diving boat that was designed & purpose built by professionals to offer the best comfort to up to 20 lucky guests. The boat is 35 metres long & 7.5 metres wide, and therefore stable, safe & comfortable for all passengers and in all sea conditions. Its twin 1,200hp engines make sailing between the best dive sites of South East Asia smooth & fast.
Unlike some other diving boats at the Similan Islands which are wooden-hull fishing boats converted for diving, Dive RACE Class E was always planned to be a top-quality diving ship. From its large sundeck right down to the lower deck, every inch was designed to ensure that guests enjoy every moment on board.
There are cabins on two decks, each taking no more than two guests, and the maximum guest capacity is 20. This ensures that there is even more space in communal areas, such as the dining area, air-conditioned saloon, multimedia room, and sundecks. 
In the saloon, there is a 60” television to enjoy movies and diving videos. The food is delicious local & western cuisine, served throughout the day. Unlike most other boats that have a buffet, DiveRACE's meals are prepared with love & care, and served like in a restaurant.
All cabins are air conditioned with en suite bathrooms. Guests are welcomed back from each dive with a hot towel, and the whole crew are service minded and friendly, while maintaining professionalism. The diving crew are happy to help with all kinds of requests, such as finding particular types of marine life.
All cabins have air conditioning and private bathrooms. There are six luxury cabins are on the main deck, each with its own small balcony. Four of the luxury cabins have a large double bed, and two are set up with two single beds. The lower deck has four cabins, which are two doubles and two twins.
There are several different itineraries for Dive RACE during the Thai diving season. The boat spends the first couple of weeks around Hin Daeng & Koh Haa. Then there is a 'crossing trip' which includes all the best Thailand dive sites, sailing from Hin Daeng to The Similans. For most of the season Dive RACE stays around the Similans (including Richelieu Rock), before it ends the dive season in Thailand with a 'crossing trip' to the south again.
IMPORTANT : There are several itineraries for Dive RACE in Thailand. We show the trips' lengths accurately to give clear and honest information, but some other websites show it in a different way. For example, a 14-dive trip on Dive RACE is 4 days & 4 nights (4D/4N) but other websites show it as 5D/4N. Although these trips do span five calendar dates, they depart in the evening and return less than 96 hours later. This is the same for Dive RACE's 18-dive trips. They are 5D/5N, not 6D/5N.

MV DiveRACE Class E Itinerary
DiveRACE has several itineraries, which includes south, south-north, & north. 'South' trips are at Hin Daeng, Koh Haa, Phi Phi & Phuket.' 'North' trips are at Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock. The 'crossing trips', visit both areas, by starting in the south and ending in the north.
Some websites show the 4D/4N trips as 5D/5N (& 5D/5N as 6D/5N), but this is misleading & incorrect. Dive RACE's trips depart in the evening so we do not count the first day because there is no diving.

The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
MV DiveRACE Class E Transfer Details
Free scheduled/shared transfers are available at set times on departure day (mid-afternoon - early evening). These include Phuket and Khao Lak.
On the final day of the trip guests are dropped off at their chosen destinations around Koh Lak and Phuket.
Dive RACE guests are normally picked up for free on the departure day, and dropped off for free afterwards.
These transfers are shared with other Dive RACE guests, and at set times which match the location of your hotel.

The booking process for Dive RACE is very simple & convenient. Firstly, ask us to reserve a space in your chosen cabin on your preferred dates. This is comittment free. When you are ready to confirm, we ask for 50% of the cruise price as a deposit. This payment is most-commonly made via PayPal, and there are no added fees. You don't even need a Paypal account, although PayPal do encourage you to open one. The PayPal invoice can be sent to any email address and payment can be made by anyone. Direct bank transfers are becoming very popular, and we now have accounts in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD & THB.
The balance is due 45 days before departure. Again, this payment can be made via PayPal.
For early-bird discount bookings we normally ask for full trip payment upon booking, but this can be dealt with case by case.
Extras, such as national marine park fees and maybe equipment hire or other items, can be paid when you arrive on board the boat. Card payments attract 3% bank fees. Extras such as park fees, courses, and equipment hire must be paid on arrival.
Cancellation policy:
Cancellation fees depend on the time and reason for cancelling. Please contact us for details. The management of Dive RACE are both considerate & flexible whenever possible regarding customer cancellations.
Most travel insurance policies can protect you from unforeseen cancellation penalties.
